I've wanted to put my molten planet Icarus in a complete spacescape for a while, and I've had this on my hard drive for a while. I just haven't been able to get the galaxy in the background right. I tried both blue and red nebulae, the blue looked better but clashes with the planet, the red went well with the planet and the fiery effect, but then there was not enough contrast. Grrrr.
So I just bit the bullet-magnet and submitted it like this. The star is a red dwarf.
I know you don't know the reasoning behind the stars being green, but even at this early stage of planetary development, I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be.

Yeah I know, but I was going for aesthetic appeal rather than consistency here. Sort of a side project. Besides, NASA tweaks the hue of many of its publicly released images (for example, turning the beige Mars to red).
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
